Well, already I am being challenged by this study. In leading a group I tend to approach the study by thinking about what I can teach others. WRONG APPROACH! I notice this in our small groups too. We want to give the answers rather than ask ourselves the questions. In this study, the teacher is scripture and the one who wants to teach must become the student. One professor I had who taught preaching shared that the danger in preaching was always preparing to dish out rather than taking it. In order to be an effective preacher/teacher we have to deal with an issue ourselves before we ever present it to others. In this study it is all about taking it in and not at all about dishing it out. This is a study that let's God teach us together.

Let me say that I hate lists. I hate workbooks. I hate answering a bunch of questions. However, when I go to the doctor I am given a list of questions that help the doctor diagnose my problem. This list serves to help me to get better. When I go through SEEKING HIM, the questions help me diagnose why I don't have daily revelations of God and why I often walk in a stale, nostalgic faith. I don't want to lack spiritual life, I need to be revived. Let's approach this time by asking the Lord to teach us and to guide us rather than asking how we can guide others. Let's allow the Lord to teach us something new rather than wanting Him to teach someone else.

Peace, Tim
